Helen Chandler is Howard Shaw’s assistant, helping him manage his ex-girlfriends. They have an accidental encounter after getting drunk, and seeing his coldness towards women, including his fiancé, Suzie Lawrence, Helen decides to quit. In need of money, she starts working at a nightclub and unfortunately runs into Howard. Despite her attempt to hide, her presence is exposed and she ends up being cornered by Howard.
